Privacy Policy

BedReady is an independent project that helps makers convert and share 3D-print files for the Snapmaker U1. This policy covers both the website (bedready.io) and the BedReady browser extension (Chrome, Firefox, and Safari). We aim to collect as little as possible and never sell your data.

The browser extension

The extension collects no data and sends nothing to any server. Conversion happens entirely in your browser — your files are never uploaded. Permissions are used only to provide the single feature (converting a downloaded .3mf for the Snapmaker U1):

  • downloads — to read the .3mf you're downloading and save the converted file back to your device.
  • notifications — to let you know when a conversion finishes.
  • site access (MakerWorld, Bambu/bblmw, Printables, Thingiverse) — the in-page helper runs only on those model sites to detect a .3mf and offer conversion. It does nothing on any other site, and reads nothing beyond the file you choose to convert.

No browsing history, analytics, or personal data is collected by the extension.

The website

The in-browser converter at bedready.io also runs locally — files dropped there are not uploaded. Beyond that, the site stores only what you actively provide:

  • Account — if you sign in, your email address (for magic-link login, via Supabase) and a profile (display name, optional bio and avatar).
  • Content you post — designs/files, comments, «makes» (photos), likes, and reports. These are public by nature of the site.
  • Optional server converter — if you choose the optional «convert on our server» path, the file is processed in memory and not stored; we keep only metadata (file sizes, source host, a salted hash of your IP, timing) to monitor cost and abuse. Reports also store a salted IP hash.
  • Analytics — privacy-friendly, aggregate usage analytics (Vercel Analytics); no advertising trackers.
  • Email notifications — if enabled, we email you (via Resend) when someone interacts with your files. You can turn these off anytime on your account page.

Cookies

Only an essential authentication session cookie when you're signed in. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your choices

You can edit or delete your content, opt out of notification emails, and request account deletion. We don't sell or share personal data with third parties for their own use.
